County Executive Ike Leggett, local officials and Vietnam War veterans will dedicate the Montgomery County Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall on Monday, May 21, at 1 p.m., at Memorial Plaza, which is located at the Government Complex Center Terrace, 101 Monroe Street, in Rockville.
The memorial will include the names of 130 service members from Montgomery County who were killed or reported missing in action during the Vietnam War.
“These fallen heroes will not be forgotten,” said Leggett. “This Memorial Wall will serve as a monument to the Montgomery County residents who died or were reported missing in action while serving our country in the Vietnam War. We remember their sacrifices with honor and gratitude.”
Montgomery County is inviting family members and friends of these fallen heroes to participate in the May 21st dedication ceremony. A plaque honoring all Montgomery County residents who served our country during the Vietnam War era, 1955 – 1975, will be unveiled at the ceremony and those who served will be recognized.
