Memorandum To: VNMAP Members and supporters From: VNMAP Secretary Date: August 12 th , 2013 Subject: Advertisement for Paid Part-time U.S. Program Intern(s) Are you a responsible and organized individual, looking for a way to better serve the Vietnamese community in the U.S.? VNMAP is looking for a reliable part-time worker to help manage our patient database and communications for the growing SMASH-B (Screening, Management, Awareness, and Solutions for Hepatitis B) program, the Affordable Care Act and other VNMAP fundraising activities. The work includes organization of patient information, phone and email correspondence, and other tasks for the SMASH-B program, such as follow-up with patient screenings and vaccinations. Besides, the intern(s) will work on other U.S. program going on in VNMAP and support VNMAP fundraising program. The part-time worker will work between 15-30 hours a week in an office set aside for VNMAP at the Montgomery County Health Department. For students, this is a great opportunity to get involved in VNMAP and serve the Vietnamese community, as well as learn about several aspects of medicine, public health, and healthcare management. A desirable applicant for the part-time position should meet the following criteria of qualifications/qualities: • Possess good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills • Available to work at least 15 hours a week. Flexible in working schedule • Experienced in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, Gmail and other basic computer or Internet systems • Reliable and able to work independently • Ability to drive and willing to work at night and weekend • Passionate about the values and mission of VNMAP • Vietnamese proficiency (speaking, reading, writing) is preferred Benefits include: • Become an active member of VNMAP with all of its benefits • Compensation will depend on the level of experience and the number of working hours • Only require 5 hours working in the office.
