This position leads the staff and operations of a data entry unit which is responsible for entering critical information about Department classes and programs into the department’s business software system, Class by Active, an integrated database. Responsibilities include prioritizing and planning the workload of data entry tasks in compliance with schedules, deadlines, protocol and policy. The incumbent also reviews and analyzes unit production and operations, and enters data. The ideal candidate is computer literate, intrinsically motivated, well organized, adaptable to change, willing to learn; and has experience analyzing and interpreting policies, procedures, and regulations. The successful candidate is also able to demonstrate their ability to effectively communicate critical information in writing; provide excellent customer service; and work professionally and efficiently with diverse clientele in a production driven work environment. This position is assigned to the Management Services Team of the Montgomery County Recreation Department. This work is critical to the Department’s mission and ability to meet all benchmarks. This Program Specialist is responsible for preparing statistical reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as well as preparing special reports as needed by management. Additionally, the responsibilities include planning and coordination of department customer surveys, and maintaining a liaison role with the County Stat and Data Montgomery staff. Duties: * Under general supervision, directs and oversees all aspects of a data entry operation, including day to day planning, organizing, and delegating. Provides leadership and direction to unit staff members. * Revises, maintains and updates data entry procedure documentation, and other resource materials. * Conducts quality checks on data entry and delivers clean, complete baseline data sets. * Reviews, verifies, enters and reconciles data and generates routine and specialized reports and presentations as requested. * Develops and administers customer feedback tools, such as customer surveys, analyzes data and reports results. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in public or business administration. Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree. Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Experience preparing presentations with specific requirements for targeted audiences, especially using PowerPoint. 6. Experience listening to customers (internal and external) to resolve existing problems in an expedient and helpful manner.
