For Immediate Release: 4/2/2015 “One Stop Fair Housing Shop” to be Held April 21 in Silver Spring Housing professionals and providers will have an opportunity to meet fair housing regulators in Montgomery County at the free Fair Housing Educational Forum on Tuesday, April 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Silver Spring Civic Building, One Veterans Place. The “One-Stop Fair Housing Shop” is sponsored by the Montgomery County Office of Human Rights, the Interagency Fair Housing Coordinating Group and the Department of Housing and Community Affairs and will include a complimentary lunch. The forum will focus on fair housing requirements for people with disabilities, reasonable accommodations, use of service animals and responsibilities of common ownership communities. Guest speakers will include representatives from the Office of Human Rights, Office of Consumer Protection, Office of Landlord-Tenant Affairs, Department of Housing and Community Affairs, Maryland Commission on Civil Rights and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. Continuous Education Unit hours will be available for those who register and qualify.
