For Immediate Release: Friday, February 26, 2016 The Faith Community Working Group invites parents, teens, and educators to learn how to understand and counter dangerous speech online and in our communities. This event is open to the public and will be held on Tuesday, March 8, at 6:30 pm in the Civic Building at 1 Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring. Speakers include Susan Benesch, faculty associate of the Berkeley Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University who teaches human rights at American University’s School of International Service and directs the Dangerous Speech Project; Steve Cohen, communications director for the Counter Extremism Project; Seth Gordon-Lipkin, education project director for the Anti-Defamation League; and James Stowe, director of the Montgomery County Office of Human Rights. A light dinner will be served at 6 pm, and then the panel of experts will begin the discussion.
