For Immediate Release: Tuesday, March 15, 2016 In response to the Metro rail outage for Wednesday, March 16, the County’s Ride On bus service will run regular weekday service and will supplement it with the few additional buses we have where possible. But, with approximately 85,000 daily Metrorail travelers in Montgomery County, the impact on travelers who depend on Metrorail will be substantial. Commuters are encouraged to adjust travel plans accordingly. Montgomery County Government will be open on Wednesday, March 16 with “liberal leave” for non-essential County employees. All essential County employees are expected to report to work as scheduled. Non-essential employees may use unscheduled annual leave, paid time off, leave without pay or compensatory time without prior supervisory approval. Employees who choose not to report for work must notify their supervisors. MC311 will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. The press event for the Campaign to Reduce Pedestrian Collisions in Parking Lots scheduled for 11 a.m. March 16 has been cancelled. A later date will be determined. For additional information please monitor the County’s homepage for updates at www.montgomerycountymd.gov.
