Posted on: March 11, 2016 Citizens Police Academy Shows What it Takes to Be an Officer Citizens Police Academy Shows What it Takes to Be an Officer Course Includes Looks at Crime Scene Processing and Investigations Rockville, Md., March 1 — Residents have the opportunity to go behind the badge this spring at the Rockville Citizens Police Academy. Participants 18 and older will learn about all aspects of the police department, receive hands-on training and earn a graduation certificate upon course completion. The free course begins March 29 and will be held from 7-9 p.m. each Tuesday through May 24 at Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive. Topics include: *Crime scene processing. *Firearms training simulations. *K-9 unit demonstrations. *Traffic law. *Detectives and investigations. *Bomb unit.
