Posted: May 10, 2017 Gaithersburg City Election 2017 The City of Gaithersburg is seeking election judges for its 2017 municipal elections, being held on Tuesday, November 7. Judges are needed for six polling places located throughout the City and for two early voting sessions being held at City Hall prior to Election Day. To be eligible for consideration, interested applicants must be registered to vote in Montgomery County. Residency within the City of Gaithersburg is not required. Attendance at an election judge training session is mandatory. Judges may work either full or half-day shifts. A full day is from 6:15 a.m. until the closing of the polls. Half-day shifts are available from 6:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 1 p.m. until close of polls. Judges are compensated at a rate of $175 for a full day shift and $112.50 for a half-day shift. Shifts for early voting sessions at City Hall are also available. Each early voting session is scheduled for five hours and will take place on Saturday, October 28 from 9 a.m. until the closing of the polls and on Sunday, October 29, from 12 p.m. until the closing of the polls. The compensation rate for an early voting shift is $112.50. Interested applicants should contact Elections Clerk in the Office of the City Manager or e-mail cityelections@gaithersburgmd.gov. On November 7, 2017, Gaithersburg residents will cast their ballots for a Mayor and for two City Council Members, who will serve the community at-large for four-year terms.
