For Immediate Release: Thursday, June 29, 2017 Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett today joined County Council President Roger Berliner, members of the County Executive’s Economic Advisory Group and representatives from local chambers of commerce and business organizations to announce the launch of the County’s new Business Portal. The launch took place at the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce offices. The business portal is a gateway to County-government services and information related to doing business in Montgomery County. It is modeled after national, best practices and based on input from an extensive survey in 2016 on improving government services for businesses. Integrating information from multiple County departments, the business portal is a single point of entry that aims to further streamline County services and operations to make it easier to start and grow a business in the County. “Businesses can find it overwhelming to figure out which offices to contact for operating in the County or for updated information that would impact their businesses,” said Leggett. “The Business Portal addresses this need by serving as a gateway to all information and resources related to doing business in Montgomery County. This is an exciting step toward improving access and transparency for businesses – and just one more way we are making Montgomery County more business-friendly.” The portal is available at: montgomerycountymd.gov/biz # # # Release ID: 17-439 Media Contact: Ohene Gyapong 240-777-6507
