Montgomery County Celebrates Asian Pacific Heritage Month 2014

Theo nguồn tin tiếng Anh trên trang mạng của For Immediate Release: 4/22/2014 Montgomery County Celebrates Asian Pacific Heritage Month 2014 Montgomery County will commemorate May as Asian Pacific American Heritage Month at Fiesta Asia Silver Spring on Sunday, May 4 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The free event will take place along Ellsworth Ave. in Downtown Silver Spring and will feature the many flavors of Asian culture through food, dance, music, crafts, culture, martial arts and fashion. This year’s highlights include the “Dumpling Eating Contest” and “Asia Moves Through Bollywood Craze.” County Executive Isiah Leggett will give opening remarks and present a proclamation. On-stage entertainment will feature non-stop performances from 25 different groups. Included will be dance, music and martial arts. Participants can also learn how to wear a saree, get henna tattoos, shop for exotic crafts, sample unique Asian snacks, pose with the “lions” and learn to bamboo dance. The celebration is co-sponsored by Montgomery County’s Office of Community Partnerships and the Asia Heritage Foundation.
