For Immediate Release: 11/19/2014 Get in-person help to shop, select and enroll in health coverage through the Maryland Health Connection at two enrollment events planned for Saturday, December 6 in Silver Spring and Fort Washington. Health navigators, assisters and certified insurance brokers will be available to help residents of the Capital Region (Montgomery and Prince George’s County) sign up for Medicaid and qualified health plans through the Maryland Health Connection. Open enrollment for qualified health plans ends February 15, 2015 but those who enrolled last year through the Maryland Health Connection must re-enroll by December 18 in order for coverage to continue and for any financial assistance received to continue. Vendors will also be on hand to provide health screenings and information on health related topics. Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Southern Regional Technology Center, 7007 Bock Road, Ft. Washington, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To enroll in health coverage, be sure to bring: • Social security numbers for every person who needs coverage. • Immigration/citizenship status documents. • Birth dates. • Employer and income information for every person who needs coverage (for example-pay stubs or W-2 wage and tax statements). • Policy number of any current health insurance plans. • Information about any job-related insurance coverage available.
