Free Tai Chi Presentation at Rockville Memorial Library to Kick off New Summer Hours, Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

For Immediate Release: 5/26/2015 Free Tai Chi Presentation at Rockville Memorial Library to Kick off New Summer Hours, Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month A free Tai Chi demonstration and workshop will be held at the Rockville Memorial Library on Saturday, May 30, from 7 to 8 p.m. to kick off the library’s new expanded summer hours (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.) and to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The library is located at 21 Maryland Ave. in the Rockville Town Square. Master Chung-Jen Chang will present a new Tai Chi program that will demonstrate the unique Chen Style Small Frame, Tai Chi push-hands applications and a Tai Chi sword. He will also teach different sequences of Tai Chi flexibility training and stretching exercises. Master Chang has taught Tai Chi for more than 30 years and consulted on the “Pushing Hands” movie directed by Oscar-winner Ang Lee. Chang has won Grand Championship titles at national Tai Chi tournaments, judged at Tai Chi contests and presented workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada.
