Posted: August 11, 2015 Arts Barn In partnership with Damascus Theatre Company, Arts on the Green presents The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) by Joanne Bogart and Eric Rockwell. The show runs September 11 through 27, 2015, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road. Please note there is no performance on September 12. Admission is $22, $12 for children 14 and under. This show is appropriate for ages 12 and older. The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) is a satire structured in five acts, each a short musical parodying and paying homage to the style of a composer or composer/lyricist team, including Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Kander & Ebb. Each act deals with roughly the same classic melodrama plot, “I can’t pay the rent!” “Funny, charming and refreshing! It hits its targets with sophisticated affection,” says New York Magazine. “Hilarious! It’ll keep you laughing from start to finish,” says The Daily News. Arts on the Green is the City of Gaithersburg’s premier center for the performing and visual arts.
