Back to School Jam Celebrates 15 Years of Helping Rockville Families Donations of School Supplies Welcomed through Aug. 19 Rockville, Md., Aug. 6 – The City of Rockville will hold its 15th Annual Back to School Jam on Friday, Aug. 21, from 6-9 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave. Any student who lives in the City of Rockville or goes to a Rockville school can receive a backpack filled with supplies for $2. Proof of address and/or school enrollment is required. Last year, 425 backpacks were distributed at the event. Informational tables and school representatives will be present and a moon bounce, music, food, drinks and more will be available. Donations of new school supplies will be accepted through Wednesday, Aug. 19. Items such as pens, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, paper and folders can be dropped off in collection boxes at the following locations: • Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave. • Lincoln Park Community Center, 357 Frederick Ave.• Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Dr. • Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Pkwy.• Rockville Swim and Fitness Center, 355 Martins Lane Lincoln Park Community Center organized the Back to School Jam in partnership with the City’s Community Services Division and Rockville Housing Enterprises.
