Posted: March 31, 2016 Activity Center at Bohrer Park In celebration of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, the City of Gaithersburg presents an exhibit featuring the artwork of the Harmonious Art Group, April 1 through June 5, 2016, at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Viewing hours are Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend a free Artists Reception on Tuesday, April 5 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. This year celebrates the 21st Annual Exhibition of Chinese Calligraphy and Brush Painting by the Harmonious Art Group. Fifteen group members and their students are exhibiting their works in traditional and contemporary Chinese styles. The Harmonious Art Group was founded in 1995 by Bertrand Mao, master of Chinese Shan-Shui (Mountain-Water), and John Wang, master of Chinese calligraphy and seal cutting, to share the beauty of this ancient art form with the community. Over the years the group members have incorporated new techniques and styles demonstrating the diversity of Chinese art.
