For Immediate Release: Monday, May 23, 2016 Residents are invited to a May 26 town hall meeting to learn about Maryland’s plan for fighting the Zika Virus should it appear in Maryland. Dr. Howard Haft, deputy director of public health for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will share information, followed by an update on local activities related to prevention and protection from the virus. In addition to Dr. Haft, attendees will hear from Dr. Ulder Tillman, County health officer and Earl Stoddard, director of the Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session. The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Dennis Avenue Health Center, located at 2000 Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring.
