For Immediate Release: Wednesday, October 11, 2017 Montgomery County Recreation is hosting several Halloween events around the county this month. From a masquerade dance to a monster bash to a haunted house, these are fun activities for residents to celebrate the Halloween season and many of the events are free. Saturday, October 21: Halloween Costume Jam Gwendolyn E. Coffield Community Recreation Center 2450 Lyttonsville Road, Silver Spring 240.777.4900 12 – 2 p.m. For K – 5th grade, music, games, line dancing, face painting, photo booth and moon bounce. Friday, October 27: Halloween a Holiday Park Classic Holiday Park Senior Center 3950 Ferrara Drive, Wheaton 240.777.4999 1-3 p.m. Come in costume, your dancing shoes, and have lots of fun. Pre-purchase your tickets today, $6 at the door, $4 with HPSI card. Friday, October 27: Halloween Happening Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center 14906 Old Columbia Pike, Burtonsville 240.777.4970 6:30-8:30 p.m. For ages 12 and under. Carnival games, prizes, crafts, music, tricks and treats. Saturday, October 28: Halloween Masquerade Holiday Park Senior Center 3950 Ferrara Drive, Wheaton 240.777.6870 6 – 10 p.m. For ages 15 and up with disabilities. Costumes recommended for this annual, Therapeutic Recreation Halloween dance. All dancers pay $10, pre-registration is encouraged. Register online at Active Montgomery, activity number 40290. Tuesday, October 31: Halloween Luncheon and Anna Pappas “A Class Act” Damascus Senior Center 9701 Main Street, Damascus 240.777.6995 12 – 2 p.m. The luncheon menu is available at the reception desk. Call for reservations. Price of the meal is $7 for ages 55- 59, for ages 60+ a donation is requested. Costumes are encouraged.
