January 11, 2018 Arts Barn Camp Volunteer The Arts Barn is now accepting applications for spring and summer break student volunteers for 2018. Located in the heart of Kentlands, the Arts Barn offers exciting art education programs during both spring and summer breaks for children ages 5 to 18 in the visual and performing arts. Student volunteers, who must be at least 14 years of age, will work with highly-qualified teaching artists in a variety of disciplines while earning Student Service Learning (SSL) hours and valuable experience. Spring programs are March 26 through 30 and summer programs begin June 18 and run through August 17. An orientation will be held at the Arts Barn on March 24 for spring break and on June 16 for summer break. Those interested in volunteering may complete the online applicationhere. The Arts Barn is located at 311, Kent Square Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland. Spring and summer break programming hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. During summer break, there is also extended care from 3 to 5 p.m. Student volunteer assignments include: Supervising students and their safety Assisting instructors and staff Art Buddy (work with a camper one-on-one) For more information, please contact the Arts Barn Volunteer Coordinator.
