February 22, 2018Businesses and nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for participation in the 10th Annual Active Aging Expo, Gaithersburg’s premier event for active living. The event takes place on Monday, May 7, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, 506 S. Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg, MD. Attendance at the 2017 event was estimated at about 600 people. The Active Aging Expo draws older adults from all over Montgomery County to Bohrer Park for a day filled with energy, educational talks, interactive demonstrations, facials, massages, manicures, and preventive screenings. Fun activities include caricature drawings, tattoos and a photo booth. A free lunch is provided to all attendees. Admission is free. Not-for-profit organizations providing health and wellness information as well as businesses that specialize in serving older adults are invited to apply for participation. Table fees are nominal. Vendors and sponsors are welcome. Sponsor benefits vary by level, and can include advertising mentions, logo display, signage, complimentary table space, and much more. The Active Aging Expo is presented by the City of Gaithersburg in partnership with Asbury Methodist Village, Adventist HealthCare, and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital.
