Few Seats Remain for Office of Human Rights Employment Seminar Focused on Women in the Workplace

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, May 29, 2018 This is a last call for registration for the few remaining seats for the Montgomery County’s Office of Human Rights (OHR), the Human Rights Commission and the Montgomery County Commission for Women free employment seminar. Women in the Work Place is the theme for the seminar, which will emphasize topics that women are often challenged with in the workplace. The event will be held on Thursday, May 31 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Silver Spring Civic Building located at 1 Veterans Plaza in Silver Spring. The workshop is designed to provide employers and employees information that is helpful to create a fair workplace for everyone. Discussion and updates on emerging employment laws and regulations including sexual harassment, pay and gender equity, federal employment laws regarding pregnancy in the workplace, tipped employee reporting requirements, Earned Sick and Safe leave and the new Minimum Wage Law are part of the agenda.
