SOURCE: Montgomery County For Immediate Release: 4/4/2013 April 14 Bicycle Ride to Benefit Tree House Child Assessment Center Join cyclists of all ages and abilities at the inaugural Tour de Cookie, a 14 or 40 mile bicycle ride on Sunday, April 14 to benefit the Tree House Child Assessment Center. The ride begins at 9 a.m. on the campus of Montgomery College at the corner of Route 355 and North Campus Drive in Rockville. Participants will ride between 10 cookie stands hosted by local clubs and organizations and collect and enjoy cookies and other sweet treats along the way. Participants will receive a collectible long sleeve t-shirt and a custom medal. Awards will go to the top three finishers (male and female), best cookie stand and the highest fund raiser (raising money is optional). In addition to the ride, a family expo will be held with exhibits and activities for children and families. The Tour de Cookie is hosted by Montgomery College, Foremost Graphic Communications and the City of Rockville’s Bike Advisory Committee. A public-private partnership, the Tree House Child Assessment Center is dedicated to reducing trauma and promoting healing for child victims of physical and sexual abuse, and neglect.
