For Immediate Release: 8/28/2013 The Wheaton Urban District and the District/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) Food Truck Association (FTA) are co-sponsoring the Curbside Cookoff Food Truck Festival on Saturday, September 28, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Wheaton Triangle at Reedie Drive and Grandview Avenue. Twenty of DMV’s most popular food trucks will participate, dishing out some of the region’s best barbeque, crab cakes, cheesecakes and other items. “Wheaton is a community known for its incredible food offerings from around the world,” said DCM Food Truck Association chairman Doug Povich. “We are very excited to partner with the Wheaton Urban District in the Curbside Cookoff and bring our food trucks to this great and diverse restaurant community.” In addition to the 20 food trucks, the Curbside Cookoff event will feature: • Live broadcast by official radio sponsor, CBS Radio; • Craft beer garden featuring more than two dozen specialty beers sponsored by The Exchange at Wheaton Station, and including DC Brau Public Ale, Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA, Heavy Seas Loose Cannon and Magic Hat #9; • Contests and interactive activities and games sponsored by Six Flags America; • DMV FTA-sponsored giveaways; and • Food truck competitions.
