Theo nguồn tin trên trang mạng của quận Montgomery For Immediate Release: 2/20/2014 Leggett Announces that MCDOT is Conducting Intensive Effort to Fill Potholes During Lull in Weather To take advantage of the milder weather predicted over the next few days, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett announced that the Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be conducting an intensive effort today, over the weekend and into next week to fill the County’s potholes. MCDOT repairs potholes every day of the year except during rain and snow. For the upcoming week’s effort, the department will add extra equipment and be able to use a more durable material, hot mix asphalt, because of the warmer temperatures. “This has been a rough winter for all of us and particularly for our County roads,” said Leggett. “While we welcome the warm weather, it does accelerate pothole formation. That’s why our Division of Highway Services crews are out in full force to ensure that our roads are in decent shape before another storm hits. I want to thank our staff for their tireless efforts to keep the roads clear of ice and snow and for all they do to repair and maintain our transportation infrastructure.” MCDOT relies on resident reports of potholes and repair crews also stop to fill any other potholes encountered as they make their rounds. MCDOT fills potholes on 5,000 lane miles of County-maintained roads. The Maryland State Highway Administration (MSHA) fills potholes, plows snow and maintains numbered routes in the County, such as Maryland routes 355 or 97. MSHA can be reached at 301-513-7300.
