On Sunday, June 1st, 2014 from 6-10pm VNMAP will be hosting a networking and fundraising banquet at New Fortune in Gaithersburg, MD (16515 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877). The guest speaker will be Ms. Uma Ahluwalia, Director of the Department of Health and Human Services of Montgomery County. Entertainment will be provided by Asia’s Ngoc Anh Vi and White House Orchestra’s Tam Tran along with cultural performances and musical duets. Come to dine with other professionals who are passionate about working together for a great cause! Bridging Networks for a Healthier Tomorrow This year’s theme is centered on collaboration between organizations to increase healthcare awareness and access for the community. Funds from the banquet will support our ongoing projects. SMASH-B provides FREE Hepatitis B screenings and vaccinations for the local community. The PrimCARE program works to increase healthcare quality in Vietnam by developing healthcare workers, while providing a public health research and a primary clinic in underserved areas. Additionally, the IKEP project offers public health experiences abroad for those interested in healthcare. About VNMAP In 2007, Viet Nam Medical Assistance Program (VNMAP), a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization was established in Gaithersburg, MD. Our mission is to bridge the gaps of health disparities in the underserved Vietnamese community through partnerships with local government agencies and local organizations. VNMAP works to provide medical assistance through international medical mission trips, health fairs, Hepatitis B intervention programs, health education events and public health assessment surveys.
