For Immediate Release: 2/22/2015 Montgomery County Government Closed Today; Trash/Recycling Collections to Resume on Monday for Residents with Friday Service, with One-Day Slide in Effect Remainder of the Week Montgomery County Government is closed today, Sunday, February 22, with essential personnel expected to report at their regularly scheduled times. Government facilities, including Public Libraries and Recreation centers, will be closed. Residents are urged to stay off the roads to allow County and State crews to treat and plow area roads and highways. Due to the greater than forecasted snow that fell yesterday County provided Recycling and Trash collection will not occur today. The Friday residents who were scheduled to be serviced today will be picked-up on Monday the 23rd. Those Friday residents should have their materials at the curb by 7 a.m. Monday. Materials should be placed in a visible location at the curb in anticipation of snow banks being created at the side of the road as plowing occurs. The County collection schedule will then slide one day later the rest of the week , with Monday residents receiving service on Tuesday, the 24th, etc., with Friday residents receiving collection on Saturday, the 28th.
