Thanksgiving Holiday Recycling & Closure Notices

Wednesday, November 25, 2015 City facilities are operating on normal business hours, with the exception of the following: The Activity Center at Bohrer Park will open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Olde Towne and Robertson Park Youth Center will open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, November 26, 2015 All City facilities are closed. Recycling scheduled for collection will be collected Saturday, November 28, 2015. Loose Leaf Collection is cancelled, your next collection date will be Thursday, December 3, 2015. The Administrative Offices of the Gaithersburg Police Station are closed from 3 to 9 p.m. Police patrol will remain on duty. For emergencies please call 911. For non-emergencies, please dial 301-279-8000 for dispatch. Friday, November 27, 2015 These facilities are operating on a modified schedule: The Activity Center at Bohrer Park will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Aquatic Center will maintain normal business hours. The Arts Barn will open for evening performance. All other City facilities are closed. Loose Leaf Collection is cancelled, your next collection date will be Friday, December 4, 2015. The Gaithersburg Police Department Administrative Offices will maintain normal business hours. The turf field at Lakelands Park will be open for community use from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Thursday, November 26, through Sunday, November 29, 2015. The City of Gaithersburg announces that the collection of recycled materials for residents whose regular recycling day is Thursday, November 26, 2015, will take place the following Saturday, November 28. This includes newspaper, mixed paper, corrugated cardboard, and commingled materials, as well as brush, branches, grass clippings, leaves and other yard trimmings, picked up by the City’s recycling contractor. Recycling scheduled for Friday, November 27 will be picked up as scheduled. Regular trash and garbage collection for City residents is handled by private contractors. Please contact your HOA or your private contractor regarding the holiday collection schedule for these materials. For more information please contact the City’s Department of Public Works.
