For Immediate Release: Wednesday, January 6, 2016 Beginning January 10, Ride On will make schedule changes to 15 bus routes. Most of the changes modify the bus schedule to more accurately reflect the time it takes for a bus to run its route based on traffic and other conditions. The following routes will be changed: 3, 8, 9, 14, 23, 32, 34, 38, 42, 45, 47, 53, 83, 97 and 98. (Click on the route number to view the new timetable.) Details about the major route changes are listed below: Routes 14 and 45: As a result of the change in Montgomery County Public Schools start times, the schedule for one trip on each route has changed to accommodate students. Route 42: To help close the County’s significant budget shortfall this fiscal year, service on this route has been reduced as follows: Eliminate weekday service after 8 p.m.; provide Saturday service from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and eliminate Sunday service. Route 83: To help close the County’s significant budget shortfall this fiscal year, service on this route has been reduced as follows: Weekday service remains unchanged; provide Saturday service from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and eliminate Sunday service. Route 98: To help close the County’s significant budget shortfall this fiscal year, service on this route has been reduced as follows: Eliminate weekday service after 8 p.m.; provide Saturday service from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and eliminate Sunday service. Also, add one trip to accommodate students as a result of the change in Montgomery County Public Schools start times.
