Posted: March 04, 2016 Gaithersburg Community Museum Discovery Days at the Gaithersburg Community Museum continue with activities focusing on the telegraph and Morse code on Saturday, March 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. With a different theme each month, Discovery Days stir the imagination and foster family involvement in a fun and stimulating environment. Admission is free, with donations to cover material costs very much appreciated. Drop in for demonstrations and experimentation with a telegraph and Morse code. Communicate with a second station that will be set up in the caboose. Information on Morse code will be provided to create coded messages to send out using a telegraph sounder. Make your own telegraph sounder for a small fee. The Gaithersburg Community Museum is located at 9 South Summit Avenue. Regular museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with additional hours by appointment. Museum admission is free.
