‘TERRIFIC’ Kids Can Earn Bikes, Generous Community Members Can Donate Program Rewards Rockville Students for Good Deeds; Applications are Due April 8 Rockville, Md., May 10 – Rockville students in grades 1-5 who complete good deeds can earn a free refurbished bike through the city’s TERRIFIC Bikes program. Organized by the city and the Rockville Bike Hub, the program is open to students in Rockville public or private schools and home school students. TERRIFIC stands for Trustworthy, Earnest, Respectful, Responsible, Involved, Fair, Industrious and Caring. Students receiving bikes will display these attributes by completing six responsible acts, such as perfect school attendance for one month or volunteering at a charitable organization for an hour. Students must have a sponsor (such as a teacher or relative) to track their progress and must submit the participation form at www.rockvillemd.gov/terrificbikes with a postmark no later than Friday, April 8. Bike recipients will be recognized at the Mayor and Council meeting on Monday, May 2 as part of the city’s observance of Bike Month. Bikes will be distributed on Sunday, May 15.
