Posted: April 04, 2016 Robertson Park Youth Center Meet your neighbors, play some games and have fun in the great outdoors at several Community Outreach Days this spring. These free events are designed to help build community and let residents know about the events, activities and resources offered by the City of Gaithersburg. The first one takes place on Saturday, April 9 from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Youth Center at Robertson Park, 801 Rabbitt Road. It’s being organized for families in the Eaves, Jefferson at Orchard Pond Apartments and Potomac Oaks, but anyone in the community is invited to join in the fun. Activity stations include face painting, a moonbounce, basketball, corn hole, arts & crafts, a giant game of Jenga, and CHARACTER COUNTS! activities. Free chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A will be available while supplies last and there will be raffle prizes throughout the afternoon. Gaithersburg Police Officers will be joined by McGruff the Crime Dog to provide safety information. Kids will be able to explore a real police car and police mountain bike, too. After enjoying an afternoon of fun, we invite families to take home information about youth programs, summer camps and other recreational opportunities, support services, budgeting and vocational training programs, and crime prevention. Community Outreach Days in other neighborhoods are being planned and dates will be announced soon.
