For Immediate Release: Thursday, December 7, 2017 Celebrate the holiday season with Montgomery County Recreation. Throughout the month of December, the recreation department is hosting a variety of family fun events, including concerts, ice skating, puppet shows, a Santa’s Workshop and more. All events are free unless otherwise noted. For events with an activity number, register online at ActiveMontgomery.org. December 8: Holiday Puppet Show Wisconsin Place Community Recreation Center 5311 Friendship Boulevard, Chevy Chase 240-777-8088 2 – 4 p.m. Ages 4 and under. Holiday puppet show, door prizes, snacks, and refreshments. In person, advance registration is required. December 8: Holiday Night Out and Concert Long Branch Community Recreation Center 8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring 240-777-6965 6 – 10 p.m. This evening gathering features music at Long Branch Community Center. Plus, you can have a photo taken with Santa ($10 per person). Activity number 44644. December 9: Winter Wonderland Mid County Community Recreation Center 2004 Queensguard Road, Silver Spring 240-777-6820 Noon – 3 p.m. The afternoon event includes holiday games, a puppet show and more. December 12: 55+ Active Adults Holiday Luncheon Potomac Community Recreation Center 11315 Falls Road, Potomac 240-777-6960 Noon – 1:30 p.m. Enjoy a holiday luncheon and Frank Sinatra impersonator Steve Flynn. $10 per person. December 13: Santa’s Workshop Damascus Community Recreation Center 25520 Oak Drive, Damascus 240-777-6930 6:30 – 9 p.m. Activities include crafts, theatrical performances, holiday demonstrations, a hot chocolate bar, outdoor ice skating, headphone silent disco and a visit from Santa. December 14: Multicultural Holiday Extravaganza North Potomac Senior Center 13850 Travilah Road, Rockville 240-773-4805 1 – 3 p.m. Share holiday traditions, stories, dances and dishes from your native land to showcase what makes us culturally unique during this festive time of the year. December 15: Winter Wonderland on Ice Plum Gar Community Recreation Center 19561 Scenery Drive, Germantown 240-777-4919 5 – 9 p.m. Experience the adventures of skating on ice without Jack Frost nipping at your nose. December 21: Holiday Caroling and Concert White Oak Senior Center 1700 April Lane, Silver Spring 240-777-6944 1 – 2 p.m. Enjoy eggnog and hot cider while singing holiday tunes with the North Potomac Amazing Senior Singers.
