For Immediate Release: Thursday, April 19, 2018 Montgomery County Public Libraries to Offer Free Financial Education Seminars During Money Smart Week® Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) will offer free educational seminars and workshops during Money Smart Week® which takes place April 21 through 28. Money Smart Week® is a national public awareness campaign to help consumers better manage their personal finances. MCPL joins other organizations to stress the importance of financial literacy, inform consumers on where to get help and provide free educational seminars and programs. The MCPL sessions include: Money Smart Essay Contest for Teens; Protecting Yourself Against Identity Theft; How to Start a Side Hustle; Social Security and Medicare; Planning for Retirement; Retirement Planning and Wealth Preservation; and First-time Home Buyer Seminar. The seminars are presented by collaborating departments and non-profit organizations, including the County’s Office of Consumer Protection and Commission for Women, and the Coalition for the Advancement of Financial Education (CAFÉ) Montgomery MD.
