For Immediate Release: Wednesday, May 25, 2016 Adults and seniors are invited to a free program, “Effective Communication Strategies,” on Thursday, June 16, 7 p.m. at the Germantown branch of Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL). The library is located at 19840 Century Blvd. An expert from the Alzheimer’s Association, National Capital Area Chapter, will describe the communication changes that result in a person who has Alzheimer’s disease and share strategies to help caregivers connect and communicate with the individual at each stage of the disease. To ensure adequate seating, registration is required. To register online, visit MCPL’s website at: www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library. Click Branches, then Calendar of Events. The library’s meeting room is equipped with an audio induction loop system for people who use hearing aid amplification with a telecoil switch or cochlear implants. A limited number of receivers is available for individuals who do not use amplification devices. To request a sign language interpreter or other deaf/hard of hearing services for library-sponsored programs, email MCPL.DeafAccess@montgomerycountymd.gov, preferably with at least three business days notice.
