This position will have programming responsibility for such focus areas as Teen Works — our student youth employment program area, Youth Advisory Committee, teen events and after school program elements. The employee’s areas of responsibility include planning, organizing, developing, scheduling, administering, and evaluating out of school time programs. Work involves managing a variety of program elements for appropriate age elements, hiring, training and supervising part-time staff and volunteer staff. Employee also maintains an active working relationship with other agencies, schools and special interest groups; coordinates recreation programs; reviews and evaluates programs and makes recommendations to improve and expand programs; prepares an operating budget for approval by the supervisor and operates within the framework of the approved budget; plans and schedules for recreational personnel program providers and facilities for teen programs. Effective oral and written skills are necessary. Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining programs in CLASS, performing closeout responsibilities, providing internal and external customer service, preparing such paperwork as reports, timesheets, and marketing and communication tools.
