Fall Frolic is the Glen Echo Park Partnership’s annual Halloween-themed family event. It’s open to the public, and visitors of all ages are invited to the Park to explore the arts through hands-on crafts, Halloween activities, trick-or-treating and visiting open studios. It’s a safe and fun Halloween event with something for everyone! Our Halloween festivities take place from 1 pm to 4 pm. Pick a pumpkin from the Pumpkin Patch and decorate it at one of our craft tables. ($1/pumpkin) And we’ll have face painting with a spooky Halloween theme ($1-$2 for face painting). All other craft activities and trick-or-treating are free! Adults will enjoy strolling through the Park’s open studios and galleries, including Glen Echo Pottery, the Art Glass Center, Photoworks, Yellow Barn Studio & Gallery, SilverWorks, and more. The Halloween celebration will conclude with a costume parade through the Park at 3:30 p.m. (weather-permitting) DON’T MISS THE PUMPKIN PLAYOFFS!! Pumpkin themed kiddie games with prizes! Activities Schedule: Pumpkin Decorating, 1 to 4 pm, Spanish Ballroom, $1 Decorate Trick or Treat bags, 1 to 4 pm, Spanish Ballroom, FREE Face painting, 1 to 3:30 pm, Ballroom Back Room, $1/$2 Halloween crafts, 1 to 4 pm, Spanish Ballroom, FREE Join the Pumpkin Playoffs and earn prizes, 1 to 3:30 pm, FREE Trick-or-Treating at studios, galleries, and theaters, 1 to 3:30 pm, FREE Costume Parade through the Park (weather permitting), 3:30 pm, FREE Volunteer! It’s lots of fun to participate in Fall Frolic, and volunteering provides a great opportunity for students to earn SSL hours! We need volunteers ages 13 and older to help supervise and direct activities. Volunteer activities include: * Helping with set up and clean up * Face painting * Supervising Halloween activities and crafts * Helping with Parking (must be 18 years old) Volunteer shifts are available from 11 am to 6 pm. Volunteers are asked to sign up for at least one two-hour shift. Refreshments will be provided. Please email jfrazier@glenechopark.org with preferred volunteer tasks and times.
