Rockville to Elect Mayor and Four Councilmembers on Tuesday, Nov. 3 Debates, Election Videos Replaying on Rockville 11; Learn How to Get Election Results Rockville, Md., Oct. 29 – Rockville voters will cast their ballots for a mayor and four councilmembers to serve a four-year term for the first time in city history on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Community members have had the chance to learn about the candidates in a special “Meet the Candidates” show as well as a series of debates televised by Rockville 11 (cable channel 11). The schedule of replays is available online, and all election videos are available at www.youtube.com/cityofrockville. Poll Hours and Voting Locations Polls will be open on Election Day at City Hall and at the city’s 10 district polling places from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Same-day registration and voting is available to non-registered city residents on Election Day at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave. Residents should bring a valid photo ID and proof of residency. Residents who are already registered to vote should vote at their polling places. To find your polling place, enter your address in the city’s interactive voting district map. District 7 has a new polling place this year, the Latvian Lutheran Church at 400 Hurley Ave. Absentee ballot applications and ballots are available in English or Spanish and must be picked up in-person at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall. Ballots must be dropped off or received by mail at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., Rockville, Md. 20850 no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ballots received after 8 p.m. on Nov. 3 will not be counted in the election. Postmarks will not be honored. Accessible Voting The City of Rockville strives to make voting accessible to all eligible voters. Rides to polling places on Election Day are available for seniors and people with disabilities by calling 240-314-8810 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Those needing a ride need to know their polling place location when they are picked up. Curbside voting, allowing voters to drive to their voting location and vote from their car, is available by calling 240-314-8810 by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30. Election Results Election results will be counted immediately after polls close on Election Day. Unofficial results will be announced on election night: On Rockville 11 (cable channel 11). On the city’s website, www.rockvillemd.gov. On the city’s Facebook page, City of Rockville, City Hall. On the city’s Twitter accounts @Rockville411 and @Rockville11. At City Hall. Official results will be certified no later than Tuesday, Nov. 10. Inauguration Ceremony and First Meeting Newly-elected officials will take the oath of office during an inauguration ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 15, at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre in Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive. A reception will follow the ceremony. The first meeting of the new term will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16 in the Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall.
